Research, Analysis and Reporting
The importance of understanding wildfires, especially in a South African context is imperative. Vulcan Wildfire Management has the proven wildfire experience, professional competency and project management skills to produce insightful analysis and reports.
In 2017 Vulcan Wildfire Management was appointed by the Western Cape Directorate Disaster Management and Fire & Rescue Services to launch a task force to analyse and document the June 2017 Knysna Fires (Elandskraal and Kruisfontein Fires). A comprehensive report with insightful analysis and strategic recommendations was produced to help guide all the key role players in their response to future disasters.
The wildland environment is complex and Vulcan ensures the right leadership is in place to drive projects and meet the desired strategic objectives.
Understanding a wildfire incident can be complex. It requires a multifaceted approach which considers the incident from different perspectives. With Vulcan Wildfire Management you are guaranteed a team with the right aptitude and skill-set. You also have a team who have proven their ability to produce work of the highest quality and who deliver the results.
Connect Before an Incident
Incident analysis should begin as early as possible, during the incident if possible. Vulcan Wildfire Management is therefore interested in establishing a connection and relationship with you before an incident occurs. Please do not hesitate to contact us so we can begin to work with you and offer the solutions you require.
Combine Data and Human Insights
Communities and people need to be considered. There is incredible data that can and must be gathered but the human factor is also of importance. Understanding the intrinsics of the reality on the ground, or even the perceived reality, is very important. Recommendations and insights need to filter back down to the people and communities on the ground so understanding and building relationships with them are important components.
Reports which Drive Change
For there to be progress, there needs to be a call to action. The first step is usually the hardest and the most important. Vulcan Wildfire Management creates reports that help guide processes and provide solutions to ensure forward momentum.
